How to make bulgogi





Bulgogi is a dish barbecued of thinly sliced beef that is pre-marinated with various seasonings on a hot barbecue pan. Bulgogi has been popular since the 1950s when the beef was served in thin slices to make it more tender and cut down the waiting time for diners.


Ingredients & Quantity

300 g beef (sirloin)
seasoning sauce : 36 g (2 tbsp) soy sauce, 12 g (1 tbsp) sugar, 10 g (½ tbsp) honey
14 g (1 tbsp) minced green onion, 16 g (1 tbsp) minced garlic, 3 g (½ tbsp) sesame salt
0.5 g (1/5 tsp) ground black pepper, 50 g (pear 100 g) pear juice, 13 g (1 tbsp) sesame oil
200 g (medium 1 ea) onion
100 g lettuce

Preparation

1. Clean blood of beef with cotton cloths, remove fats and tendons, and cut into 5 cm-wide, 4 cmlong
and 0.3 cm-thick along with opposite direction of the texture. 【Photo 2】
2. Skin onion and wash, shred at intervals of 0.5 cm-wide (190 g).
3. Blend seasoning sauce. 【Photo 3】
4. Wash lettuce under running water.

Recipe

1. Add seasoning sauce to the beef and fumble with hands, then add onion, marinate it for 30 min.
2. Heat the barbecue pan, pan-fry the beef on high heat for 3 min. then turn over the beef, lower
the heat to medium, fry it another 5 min.
3. Serve with lettuce.

·Mushrooms and/or carrot may be added upon the taste.

It is a Korean traditional cuisine that you have to mix minced beef with tofu, season it, and grill it on a pan. It is also called Donggurang ddang, and Don jeon, which means the food made of pork, if you put pork instead of beef. It is made in traditional events like when family commemorate ancesters, or when they gather around in the events like Chuseok.

Here is the recipe;

First, mince beef. You have to squeeze water out of tofu and squash it using the back of kitchen knife. Mince garlic and green onion, mix them with beef and tofu, and season them. Make them in a round meatball with diameter of 3.5cm. You should press the center of it because they rise when you grill them. Put some flour and egg on them, oil a frypan, and grill them on low heat untill it turns yellowish brown.

Heoi-DeopBab can be easily understood as a simplified version of Bibimbap with diced pieces of raw fish. The word "Heoi" refers to raw fish. DeopBab means 'rice dish with ingredients on top.' There were a blind person and his daughter.
The poor blind Mr.Sim lost wife, when she gave birth to daughter cheong.
He raised cheong by himself hard.
As the blind sim became older, Cheong had to support him.
Ond day, The blind sim got into the stream water on his way back home.
He couldn't escape by himself.
Fortunately a Buddhist priest rescued him.
"Why did you walk alone? you can see nothing.It was really dangerous."
"I have only one daughter. She has to work for living. We live from hand to mouth.
she cannot guide me all the time."
"How sad! If you contribute to our temple, you will be healthy,and of course you can see."
"Really? How much?"
"3000Packs of rice."
That discouraged blind sim.
Cheong came back home quickly.
She already heard what happened to her father.
"Oh! father! Thanks god.Are you all right?"
"Yes i'm ok. but another thing made me sad."
"What's that?"
The blind sim told to his daughter about the contribution.
Cheong really wanted to make him see everything.
But she didn't have much of money to meet that.
she made a decision.
There was a dangerous section of sea.
It is called IN- Dang-Soo
Many ships without sacrifices had Wrecked in indangsoo.
The crews sacrificed virgin to get the sea peaceful.
Cheong got 3000packs of rice as the price or her own life.
And she contributed them for the temple.
She didn't have choice.
She told a lie to her father.
"Father, I'm getting married to a big rich man.
He gave me 3000 packs of rice for contribution."
"That's nice is that a good guy?"
"Of course! But i have to move.I won't be able to support you after getting married"
"I'll be OK.I wish you happy. good luck!"
On the way When Cheong had to become a sacrifice.
The blind sim heard true story about cheong from a neighbor
But that was too late.
The ship already left.
The blind sim prayed for Cheong not for himself.
When ship reached indangsoo the ship was taken by a big storm suddenly.
It was time for cheong to die.
Cheong prayed for her father and then jumped in to the deep sea.
But Cheong didn't sink.
The god of the sea was impressed by cheong's love for her father, and saved her.
The god of the sea made a big flower, and put her inside that flower.
The god of the sea floated the flower on the sea.
one of merchant ships found the flower and gave that to the king.
The King was happy to get it.
After a few days,the flower blossomed and a lady came out from it.
That was cheong.
The King got married to her and they were happy.
One day cheong asked king for a party for the blind persons in the country.
The king held the party.
All blind persons in the land came to the King's palace.
Cheong look for her father during the whole party days.
Finally she found the blind sim.
"Father! At last i meet you again!"
"What? this voice belongs to my daughter, cheong. Is that you?"
"Yes father, it's me!"
"Oh! my daughter! Let me touch you.I want to see you.Let me see!Let me see!"
At that moment, the blind sim opened his eyes.
He could see his daughter,Cheong who became the Queen of the land.

Ddoek soup is usually eaten in a new year in Korea, everyone eat ddeok soup in a new year, it means the old year has gone so we should be clean and to get 1 year older from religious meaning. At the old days, we put pheasant meat, but thesedays it's very uncommon so people use beef or chicken. For beef we cut it in slice and fry ion frypen with sauce, or just cut in it slice and boil it with green onion. We also put egg in ddeok soup, we seperate the white part and the yellow part. ddeok is also cut in slice and boil tpgether with other ingredients. After cooking it all we put fried beef, kim(dried seaweed), and pie nut on to the ddeok soup.
ddeok is ricecake.
guk means soup in Korea.

It's made with pork or beef. Calf is the best beef for galbi jjim. The old days people called it 'GariJjim' It takes many time to cook Galbi Jjim but it's sweet and soft so I recommend it for people all over the world.

We put soysauce, green onion, garlic, ginger, sugar, sesame oil, pepper into the water with crushed apple. Put galbi into this sauce for a long time. After, boil it on the maximum set, and boil it once again on the minimum for it's taste soft. Mix galbi more with sauce to taste better.
