Heoi-DeopBab can be easily understood as a simplified version of Bibimbap with diced pieces of raw fish. The word "Heoi" refers to raw fish. DeopBab means 'rice dish with ingredients on top.' In other words, Heoi-DeopBab refers to a rice dish with vegetables and raw fish on top. Therefore, to prepare Heoi-DeopBab, one needs diced pieces of raw fish and various vegetables such as lettuce, sesame leaf, cucumbers and etc. All these ingredients are served on top of a base of rice. On top of that, Red Pepper Paste and Sesame Oil are added. Before eating, mix all the ingredients (vegetables, raw fish, and Red Pepper Paste & Sesame Oil) with the rice.
