AboutKoreanfood:순두부찌개Sundubu jjigae (Spicy soft tofu stew)


Tofu was developed in Buddhist temple. Since the technology of making tofu was better than that of China and Japan, people from those countries learned the techniques to make tofu. Among those tofu, soft tofu is made by grinding soybean and pouring bittern before making it harden. Since it is soft, children can also eat it. Tofu is sometimes called "meat from field" since it is so nutritious. Therefore, it is very popular among people. Sundubu jjigae (Spicy soft tofu stew) is a stew made of soft tofu, shells and by boiling them.
